Just one. Just Yours
Hidden in the hills of Singdean, Alpnhaus is the only chalet of its kind — private, dog-friendly, and made for two. A space to rest, reconnect, and breathe.
Tucked away from the world, Alpnhaus is an award-winning, off-grid mountain chalet at Singdean — designed for two to truly unwind.
A warm, hand-crafted hideaway of local larch, it offers integrity, comfort, and complete privacy. Child-free and dog-friendly, Alpnhaus is the only chalet here — just one, just yours.
Set on a rugged hillside, it’s surrounded by valleys, streams, and waterfalls. The Singdean garden and wildlife pond brim with life — dragonflies, herons, wild ducks, deer, red squirrels, and even the occasional otter or pine marten.
Built with love, creativity, and dedication, Alpnhaus reflects years of plans and dreams. We’re nearby if you need anything — otherwise, it’s just you, nature, and the quiet.

Every detail of this lovely Scottish hideaway has been crafted to help you unwind and recharge. Surrounded by beautiful views that you can enjoy from inside too. Peaceful and joyous.
The Hot Tub
Your own wood-fired hot tub awaits — freshly filled for your stay with pure Scottish spring water, perfectly heated and ready each evening from 6:00 p.m so you can unwind beneath the open sky without a care. Spend your days entirely at ease; we’ll take care of the heating for you. Set just outside your bedroom, it offers complete privacy and uninterrupted views across the hillside.
If you’d prefer a different moment to soak — perhaps at sunrise or under the stars — a basket of logs is provided, allowing you to light the fire and enjoy the ritual in your own time.
Step into the water and let the warmth envelop you — the kind that soothes tired muscles and stills the mind. As darkness falls, the landscape stirs to life — a deer in the distance, the calling of owls, a fox or badger passing quietly through the long meadow. Above, the night sky can open wide, the Milky Way stretching clear and bright across the silence.

Remote and Rugged
The Outdoors
Surrounded by wild Scottish hills and pines, Alpnhaus opens onto a private terrace with sweeping views and pure air. Walk outside to enjoy the wood-fired hot tub, a crackling firepit and peaceful spaces made for morning coffee or starlit evenings.
Each season brings its own beauty — from snow-dusted winters to golden autumn light — inviting you to slow down, breathe deeply, and savour the quiet of the landscape.
As dusk settles over the hillside, the firepit becomes the glowing heart of Alpnhaus. Logs are provided for you should you wish to light it. Set just beyond the terrace, it’s a place to gather beneath wide Scottish skies, where the scent of woodsmoke mingles with hill air and the flames flicker softly against the larch walls.
Wrap yourself in a blanket, pour a glass of wine or a mug of hot chocolate, and watch the last light fade across the peaks. You might hear the distant call of an owl or the rustle of deer moving through the pines. If the sky is clear, the stars soon appear and then the huge Milky Way.
Whether you’re toasting marshmallows or simply sitting in silence, the Alpnhaus firepit is an invitation to stay a little longer beneath the night skies.

Winter time
A magical time here at Alpnhaus, we can still get ‘old fashioned’ snow. Over your knee snow. Snowman snow….and snowballs…and snow angels….
As you drive up the pass and turn the final corner, it feels as though you’ve slipped into Narnia itself. Alpnhaus, built in the style of a mountain ski lodge, stands waiting — warm, welcoming, and wonderfully snug and oh so toasty.
The Winter Hot Tub
Winter Soaking
When snow begins to fall at Alpnhaus, the hot tub becomes something truly lovely. Step outside into the crisp hillside air, everything hushed beneath a blanket of white, and into the steaming warmth of the wood-fired water. The contrast is exquisite: cool flakes melting on your skin as the heat wraps around you, the scent of pine smoke drifting softly through the stillness.
From this quiet cocoon, you can watch the hills disappear into mist, or gaze up as cold air catches the light of the stars. In that moment, time feels suspended, just you, the hills and the gentle crackle of fire.
Although Singdean is situated on a very quiet, and beautiful road, it is still classed as a ‘B’ road and is therefore salted and mostly kept clear. We have a normal car with Winter tyres and there’s no problem.

Christmas
From around mid November, Alpnhaus is beautifully decorated for Christmas. Cosy, calm, and wonderfully atmospheric.
